why eft?

Emotionally Focused Therapy for Families (EFFT) is an attachment-based approach that works to mend broken bonds and heal fractured families.

We are able to guide the process by focusing on the emotional experience within a family and the problem patterns that block family members from accessing the resources they would otherwise share. EFFT provides a practical approach to engaging families at an emotional level.

Goals and Outcomes of EFFT:

  • restore connection, repair emotional bonds, and promote resilience in family relationships

  • provide a network of security that instills the flexibility and closeness necessary for families to promote individual growth and meaningful relationships across generations

  • stabilize a family’s negative interaction pattern and reduce problematic behavior by restructuring parent and child interactions

  • guide the family to new patterns of parental availability, responsiveness and coherent attachment communications as they face developmental change and life challenges.

Our Specialty:

Military and Ministry Families

Life as a military and ministry family comes with unique pain points that can contribute to creating challenges and disharmony in a family’s daily life. Brittany, Emovere’s founder, knows firsthand what it’s like to navigate these particular lifestyles, and she’s here to be your guide toward hope, healing, and growth.

Military Families

Couples and families experience unique stressors of the active-military lifestyle that contribute to difficulties in the relationship including deployments, frequent moves (PCS-Permanent Changes of Station), financial stressors, parenting, adjusting to new places, creating home and family routines over and over in new places.

We’ll help you work through the emotions that all these stressors stir up, as well as equip you to understand how your ways of coping with these specific external stressors impact your relationship and contribute to disconnection. Let’s get started on the path to hope and healing.

Ministry Families

Regarding couples in ministry, we understand how the demands of life as leaders of a church or ministry can contribute to disconnection in the relationship of couples and families. Long work hours for the spouse in ministry (or both if both are in leadership), work/life balance, issues of theology and beliefs about gender roles, parenting philosophies, spiritual practices, and issues of burnout or crises of faith for one or both.

Your life is dedicated to serving others, so let’s make space to care for your family. Let’s get started.

It’s your time to flourish as a family.
